Well, at pawn shops you can sell your item or use it as collateral to secure a cash loan in just a few minutes. I have a friend who has absolutely fallen in love with a Nikon DSLR camera that came out this year; he called me the other day asking if I could help him get cash for the camera that he already has for the new Nikon he wants. To help you get the most money for your camera, here are three things you need to think about before you visit your local pawn shop.

Right off the bat, knowing what kind of camera you have is important. While there is still an active market for newer digital cameras, film cameras are all but dead. Not too many people are going out of their way to struggle with developing film when they can use a digital camera to print or share their pictures online the same day they took them. If your digital camera is a snap and shoot or a DSLR, then you’re in business to get quick cash.
Adding a memory card adds money to the offer price. If you decided not to add the memory card, then just bring it along so that the pawnbroker can test out the camera to make sure it works well.
Bringing along the packaging, cords, charger, and case adds a lot of money to your offer. Pawnbrokers love completeness because it is easier to sell the camera. Presenting the camera as a complete, fully charged, and functional item will get you the best offer for your camera.
