Rodney, who is the manager at Fat Cat Pawn, says he’s seen a fair share of unusual items like a 4 foot tall sword, and dog grooming gear. He’s also seen quite a few rare items like a Charvel guitar.
Husband and wife Bruce and Bev Strand decided two years ago that they would open Fat Cat Pawn because they they loved pawn shops for their bargain prices. Unlike most, Bruce and Bev planned to open Fat Cat Pawn as their retirement careers. When asked why the customers of northwest Oklahoma city love Fat Cat Pawn so much, Bev says,” We offer the community an alternative to banks for people looking for a short term loan, and also a retail store that offers quality new and used items for a bargain price.” Fat Cat Pawn has done so well that last month the Strand’s opened their second location in northwest Oklahoma city on Britton Rd.

Big Fat Pawn is open Monday-Friday from 10-6pm and Saturday from 10-5pm.
