How to Pawn or Sell a Fitbit

February 29, 2020 - Electronics

In 2008, the company Fitbit came out with an activity tracking product of the same name.

This product uses a 3D motion sensor within its product to track activity with precise detail, including the intensity of the activity. Because of how easy and useful Fitbit is, the product has become a huge success. This, in turn, makes it very popular to buy among pawn shops. If you have a Fitbit you would like to sell or pawn on PawnGuru, here are a few tips on how to get top dollar for your Fitbit.

Erase and Reset to Factory Settings

Unless you want data on how much weight and calories you’ve burned in the hands of the new owner of your Fitbit, I would erase and restore your Fitbit to factory settings. To do this involves quite a few steps.

  1. Plug your tracker into the charger and make sure the other end of the charger is plugged into a working USB port.
  2. Press and hold the button for approximately two seconds.
  3. Continue to hold the button while removing the tracker from the charging cable.
  4. Continue to hold the button for an additional seven to nine seconds, then release the button and immediately press it again.
  5. Your tracker will advance to a screen that says ALT immediately followed by a white screen.
  6. Press the button after you see the white screen to advance to advance to a screen that says VIBE. Your tracker will begin to vibrate.
  7. Press the button again to advance to the Error screen and then press again until the screen says Erase and then let go.

Packaging and Accessories

It is very important to include all the accessories that came with your Fitbit, because it is hard for pawn shops to sell an item that isn’t complete with the accessories needed to use a Fitbit. Make sure to include the tracker, holster, USB Dongle, and USB charger. It’s also a good idea to include the paperwork and packaging to complete your item.

Properly post your item on PawnGuru

If you want to get a great offer on your Fitbit, you’ll need to post a good picture and description of your Fitbit. Your description should include the model and year of your Fitbit including how long you’ve had it. If there are any scratches or missing accessories, you should add that to the description.
