They’re providing top-notch service for a variety of customers seeking small to large size loans in the Southeast area of Houston. They are also a Top Shop on the PawnGuru pawn shop network based on user feedback.
Martinez, (the older brother Jesse) said that their average pawn loan is $200, and they accept almost every item, except firearms. If you need cash fast, then bring in your jewelry mementos, computer electronics, TVs, stereos systems, and power tools, J and E will give you a fair deal. In addition to buying, selling, and loaning, J and E also offers services for jewelry and watch repair.
“We have all kinds of customers and we take all kinds of items,” Martinez says. “We’re interested in most items as long as it can be resold.”
J and E Pawn goes out of their way for customers to leave satisfied. Martinez shared how he recently helped a customer by helping them keep within budget, and he even provided an added bonus: “A customer was looking for a blue-ray player and she only had $60, so I found her a blue-ray player, and I added an HDMI cord, and a blue-ray movie too.”
“We try to help everyone that’s in need whenever they walk in the door,” Martinez says. “We help as much as possible, depending on how much they need.”
It’s the convenience and ease that gives pawn shops, like J and E Pawn an edge over a bank. Martinez says that’s what he pitches to customers, that he can provide small to large loans within minutes. However, reaching out to new customers looking for fast cash has become harder over the last decade.
For shops looking to revamp the weakened word-of-mouth in the industry, he said that PawnGuru can help.
“Word-of-mouth is not functioning like use to years ago,” Martinez said of the pawn industry. “15 years ago it was all word-of-mouth, now business and everyone is online.”
Since signing up for PawnGuru, J and E Pawn has been actively reviewing items submitted by new and local customers near his shop.
“I’ve seen all kinds of things,” Martinez said of PawnGuru’s platform. “Tools, jewelry, computers, game systems, and bicycles, …really everything!”
Martinez recommends customers to check out PawnGuru because, “It’s easy and everywhere,” he said. “Pawnbrokers can answer questions, and if it works out you can meet at the business you choose.”
