Pawn Tip of the Day – Come Prepared

February 14, 2020 - Pawn Resources

Be prepared with proper ID before you attempt to pawn your items.

Pawn shops like any other business are regulated closely by both federal and state laws. Most pawn shops work very closely with local police to report and turn over any stolen merchandise.

For these reasons, you must be prepared to present a valid state issued photo ID, and in many states, a fingerprint before you can pawn your item.

Don’t let this deter you. These regulations have been implemented to help significantly reduce the resale of stolen goods in many areas. If your item isn’t stolen, you have nothing to worry about.

Tip: Try using Pawn Guru to find local pawn shops BEFORE you travel to a shop.
