If you’re going to part ways with an item or pawn it at the risk of not getting it back (in the case that you don’t pay back your pawn loan), you’re going to want to make sure you get the most money possible. On top of that, you’ll want to make sure you’re bringing in an item of significant value.
This is smart thinking, and you’re on the right track. In this post, we’ll show you how to get the most money at a pawn shop for your items. But first, we want to show you how smart you really are for asking this question.
In 2015, we brought various types of items to eight different pawn shops in the Detroit area, where we are based. Our goal was to see whether pawn shops offered similar prices for these items, or if there were huge disparities.
What we found was that there were large disparities in what pawn shops were willing to offer us. Some shops offered hundreds of dollars for an item that another shop offered less than $100 for. And what’s most surprising of all? Some didn’t even make an offer!
We realized that if we encountered this problem, that millions of other people were likely facing the same problem at pawn shops.
To solve this problem, we created PawnGuru. With PawnGuru, you can connect online with multiple pawn shops in your area. All you need to do to receive bids online from multiple pawn shops is list a photo and brief description of your item. Pawn shops in your area will be immediately alerted that your item is up for bid, and they can immediately make offers on your item. You are notified online as soon as this happens.
Not only does this save you time researching which pawn shops will take your item, but it allows you to compare the cash offers in one place from the comfort of your home.

It really helped when you mentioned how you should compare several pawn shops and compare their prices in order to find the best prices you can. I can understand that taking the time to do your research can help you find the best pawnshops to do business with and get the deals you want. A friend of mine was talking about how he needed to find good pawn shop he could sell to, so I’ll share your post with him.
