Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, or so the song says.
But they’re not your wallets best friend! A good quality diamond ring can easily cost $1,000.
And buying used can help – but if the stone is high quality, you’ll still pay high prices. The best thing you can do to save some cash is to know where to buy cheap diamonds.
We’ve got three places for you to try below
You could buy diamonds off Craigslist – though it shouldn’t be your first choice. You have no way to check the honesty of the buyer and the quality of the goods on that site.
They could have a certificate or a receipt – but how do you know the item listed on the receipt are what you’re getting?
There are a range of Craigslist horror stories. One woman sold her wedding ring but had the diamond taken out and replaced with cubic zirconia before she sold it.
On the more horrific side, a woman in Longmont, Colorado tried to buy some baby clothes and the seller cut the baby out of her womb in the front yard.
All that to say, exercise caution when dealing with Craigslist.
There are tons of major retailers going out of business around the country. K-Mart is one, along with Sears and Macy’s. These stores are going to all online or will cease to exist at all.
When these stores go out of business they mark everything down by usually 20% to start and 50% or more as they get closer to the closing date.
It can be tempting to wait until the price is better – but the longer you wait, the bigger the chance they’ll get snapped up by another savvy consumer.
That means jewelry as well. Most of these stores have a small selection of diamond earrings or necklaces in a locked case. You can get around 100 to 200 dollars off these if you shop at the right time.
However – these aren’t unique pieces. You’ll find them in stores all over the US – and not only in that closing chain.
If you have the cash on hand and don’t want something unique, check out GOOB sales. Otherwise, you should shop at our next (the best) location.
Online Pawn Shops

Or pawn. Diamonds included!
